Indonesia travel guide
Indonesia journal
My Indonesia journal will start with a Indonesia travel guide. First, I must admit when I traveled to Indonesia I didn't know anything about the country, except it was far away.
The international airport CGK was my first introduction to Indonesia. I noticed there were many muslims at the airport . Did you know the country has 90% muslims ?
The airport was small , friendly and clean. They didn't make you take off anything like the american airports. Since there are no copyright laws you see a few people selling fake pens; "I wouldn't spend 5.00 for the real one," I told him.
There were a few chain restaurants and some indonesian homestyle places that were delicious.
Once I landed I needed to get a Visa - they call it a Visa on Arrival. Pay 25 dollars and you got it . I think they should be able to do that on the airplane, it would save time. But it took 30 minutes because many planes landed at the same time.
After that is was off to get the baggage and head to the hotel.
I stayed in an European hotel chain Ibis. It is a middle of the road clean hotel. There are many taxis I took Blue Bird taxi they use meters and are safe drivers. If you want an adventure take express taxi they are cheaper and the driver is insanely fast.
I planned one week in Jakarta , two weeks in Bali and one more week in Jakarta.
Did I mention why I went to Indonesia ?
While in Jakarta , I went shopping at Plaza Semanggi very nice so many inexpensive restaurants that were so delicious.I went to inddonesia to loose 3- pounds but I gained weight. Bread Talk is out of this world.
